Dandelion
This piece is a reference to my twin sister, April. I haven’t seen her since we drove her dog Donut and belongings to NYC, when it was the epicenter of the global pandemic. We’ve overcome so much together, and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for her. I aimed to convey how I see her. Resilient, tenacious, and effortlessly cool. It’s difficult to process all we’ve been through. As I work, I do so considering more strategies in using my art to further support our continued movement for Black liberation.
